Jacobs is seeking a dedicated professional who can succeed under limited supervision. Someone who can working on more complex, less routine projects and exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard GIS techniques, procedures, and criteria.
This position will
Researches, evaluates, recommends and implements technical and administrative solutions to achieve application objects to forward departmental goals, Interacts with engineers, PMs, GIS group, more likely to have client contact.
Recommend changes to Engineers working on a given project.
Mentor less experienced GIS offering advice and knowledge.
Coordinates the implementation and maintenance of geographic databases.
Develop a GIS system, with centralized data and a user interface.
Develop or modify standards for the land development exhibits and output required for land development projects.
Centralize data for use on projects in indexed library.
Produce and maintain supporting system documentation.
Will work independently and under limited supervision.
Produce and maintain current library of GIS data, acquire new data as necessary for project needs or new geographies and augment data as new information is received.
Utilize GIS to maintain queryable database of Jacobs projects.
Prepare routine exhibits for projects to support development, H/H, environmental, marketing and other purposes.
Must have a high-school or technical-school training with courses in GIS, computer-aided drafting, and/or information technology is required
Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Discipline, Geography, or Computer Science is preferred
Previous GIS internship is preferred
Experience in ArchGIS- is preferred
