JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Superintendent is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and budgeting projects involving the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities and systems.
Responsiblities include but are not limited to:
º Managing mid-sized to large projects of twenty five (25) or more persons, sometimes in excess of fifty (50).
º Conferring with senior management, supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
º Scheduling the project in logical steps in order to budget enough time required to meet deadlines.
º Determining labor requirements and dispatching workers to construction sites.
º Planning, organizing and directing activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
º Interpreting and explaining plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients.
º Preparing contracts and negotiating revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
º Directing and supervising workers including delegating responsibilities to foremen and electrical technicians and mentoring electrical technicians II and III in order to prepare them for promotion to the next career level.
º Monitoring project budgets in order to ensure positive cash flow and to maintain profitability.
º Inspecting and reviewing projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
º Evaluating foreman, electricians, etc.
º At least twelve (12) years of experience working in the electrical industry, including at least two (2) years serving as project foreman.
º A high school degree or GED.
º Must possess a master electrician's license in at least one jurisdiction in which M.C. Dean, Inc. performs work (Virginia, Maryland, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, or the District of Columbia).
º Must have completed advanced training requirements in one career discipline or entry-level requirements in two disciplines.
º Experience working with management systems such as scheduling, job cost reports, estimating, safety, documentation requirements, and quality control.
º Experience overseeing and approving monthly job cost updates, productivity reports, and quarterly cash flow projections.
º Proficiency in the CPM scheduling method and GC schedules.
º Proven track record as a lead foreman; Mastery of foreman level 3 job responsibilities
º Must have a valid driver's license or passport to access job sites.
º Must successfully pass a background investigation and drug test.
- This position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle. Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance to our policy.
