Noble Energy, Inc. US Onshore Technical Training Manager in Houston, Texas
Responsible for the management of the people and services required to develop, coordinate, and execute the technical training programs across the DJ Basin, Eagleford and Permian business units.
This position will involve approximately 25% inter-office travel and could be based out of our Houston, Denver or Greeley office.
Develops course material for an integrated new hire field training program consisting of computer based training (CBT), classroom, standardized procedures, safety, field observations, and on the job hands on training
Training module owner for entry level through advanced discipline training opportunities for Base Production and Wellsite Leaders
Oversees the creation, maintenance and facilitation of the technical training material per schedule or BU need
Responsible for the creation of new training and competency assessment programs for operations as requested by BU leadership
Creation or procurement of computer and video based training as required
Works with subject matter experts to create curriculum associated with entry level through advanced discipline training
Responsible for the implementation and development of technical competency program for production to include skills, standards, and demonstrated testing
Evaluates the USO skills and training “matrix” and identifies skill and training gaps to be addressed
Coordinates skills training with vendors and outside agencies to design and deliver adhoc training courses as requested by the BU
Work with operations to develop priorities and scheduling of all training (EHS, Field Technical, , etc.)
Coordinates efforts of training goals/projects with other departments as needed
Partners with the corporate Learning & Organizational Development department to ensure that all training programs are consistent with company-wide training efforts
Develop and maintain relationships with local community colleges and promote Noble’s image & brand with the community as requested by CXGR and operations leaders
Ensures that training activities and materials are reusable and sustainable
Accountable for the collection, reporting, and analysis of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
Provides performance management continuous skill development opportunities for direct reports
Accountable for the Base Production training schedule
Accountable for the development and optimization of the training facility
Accountable for the analysis of survey information to improve training effectiveness
Bachelor’s degree in related discipline required. (Preferred educational disciplines include Adult/Continuing Education or Engineering. Master’s degree preferred.)
Proven work experience as a training manager
Track record in designing and executing successful training programs
Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc.)
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Upstream Oil and Gas experience, preferred
Typically requires 10 years of training and curriculum development experience
5+ years managing a training department, preferred
Oracle Learning Management
Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
Responsible for ensuring the administration and communication of training programs.
