Entry Level Equipment Engineer- Kiewit Offshore Services

Kiewit Offshore Services, a district (or business unit) of Kiewit Corporation builds structurally complex jackets and topsides for offshore oil drilling rigs. Position Overview:

An Entry-Level Equipment Engineer working within Kiewit Offshore Services will assist in managing vehicle and equipment maintenance, for some of the most interesting and challenging construction projects. You’ll be responsible for managing routine maintenance checks on our equipment and vehicles. This will include inspecting machines in order to diagnose defects, and testing mechanical products, and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance, and compliance with manufacturers' specifications. Being part of the equipment department you’ll have a role in scheduling maintenance for industrial machines and equipment, keeping optimum equipment service records.

You may be asked to diagnose faults/malfunctions to determine required repairs, replace damaged or worn parts, reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools, clean/lubricate machinery and parts, and read/understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings. Jobsites and offices are located nationwide so travel and/or relocation may be required.


*Degree in Equipment Maintenance, Automotive Technology or related field.

*Strong organizational and time management skills.

*Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.

*Strong work ethic – Highly motivated and willing to do what it takes to get the job done right.

*The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • The ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment.

*Previous experience in equipment maintenance management or mechanical repair is preferred.

  • Knowledge of construction safety and current federal & OSHA Requirements is preferred.

*The ability to travel and relocate as required.
