D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for anAssistant Construction Managerfor theirConstructionDepartment. The right candidate will be responsible forpromoting communication and information flow between the field construction and the office. Responsible for all construction field related activities, which includes management of all superintendents, assistant superintendents, area managers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist Construction Manager in the duties and processes listed below:
o Hiring, managing and terminating Construction personnel
o Oversee all field operations
o Oversee all plan ordering and permitting
o Develop department overhead budget
o Develop and implement incentive programs
o Develop and maintain trade base
o Interface with all municipal governing bodies, public utilities and industry associations
o Oversee the field operation, production times and insure quality control so that the homes are ready for homeowner orientations and occupancy
o Set build times on each plan and provide schedules to meet the build times
o Redline plans on first time build at each subdivision
o Final approval of all redlined print changes
o Review vendor surveys each month before they are sent out
o Visit job sites periodically to spot check quality and policy enforcement
o Review survey cards weekly for construction and customer service
o Attend meetings with subcontractors to discuss problems as they arise
Manages 2 or more subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of five to more than twenty employees in the Construction Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Come join a winning team with a Fortune 500 company!
